computers

I recently moved home to my parents and I can no longer connect to their wireless network. There is a box that says' trying to connect 'or something and then I get an error message. I think the problem may be that my sister has a laptop because I was absent and so there are currently 4 computers connected to the network. I have heard that some networks automatically set a limit of 4 pc customer, so I like this increase? I think that read something about Registration in a router, but cannot remember anything more. Incidentally, the box wireless is not physically connected to any of your computers. Types hope that you can help, thanks!
